Lutfiah Zahara, Purnawarman Musa, Eri Prasetyo Wibowo, Irwan Karim +1 more
2020· 2020 Fifth International Conference on Informatics and Computing (ICIC)174doi:10.1109/icic50835.2020.9288560

One of the ways humans communicate is by using facial expressions. Research on technology development in artificial intelligence uses deep learning methods in human and computer interactions as an effective system application process. One example, if someone does show and tries to recognize facial expressions when communicating. The prediction of the expression or emotion of some people who see it sometimes does not understand. In psychology, the detection of emotions or facial expressions requires analysis and assessment of decisions in predicting a person's emotions or group of people in communicating. This research proposes the design of a system that can predict and recognize the classification of facial emotions based on feature extraction using the Convolution Neural Network (CNN) algorithm in real-time with the OpenCV library, namely: TensorFlow and Keras. The research design implemented in the Raspberry Pi consists of three main processes, namely: face detection, facial feature extraction, and facial emotion classification. The prediction results of facial expressions in research with the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method using Facial Emotion Recognition (FER-2013) were 65.97% (sixty-five point ninety-seven percent).

Audience Participation and Neoliberal Value: Risk, agency and responsibility in immersive theatre
Adam Alston
2013· Performance Research141doi:10.1080/13528165.2013.807177

This article identifies a value set shared between the neoliberal ethos and modes of audience participation frequently promoted in immersive theatre: values such as risk-taking, individual freedoms and personal responsibility. The promotion of self-made opportunity, premised either on opportunistic risk-taking, or the savvy attitude that comes with experience and familiarity with immersive theatre participation, will be addressed as valorising another shared value: entrepreneurialism. A participatory mode will be introduced that I call ‘entrepreneurial participation’: a kind of audience participation privileged in much immersive theatre performance identifying the enactment of neoliberal value. While entrepreneurial participation may be deliberately deployed by audiences as a participatory tactic, it will be argued that this particular participatory mode is frequently expected of audiences, or at least privileged as a means of engaging with performance. Work by the British immersive theatre company Punchdrunk will be taken as a means of illustrating this suggestion, particularly The Masque of the Red Death (2007). The article begins with a definition of immersive theatre that focuses on the figuring of participating audiences, paying particular attention to the relativity of participatory freedoms and the centrality of experience production. Hedonistic and narcissistic experiences will pull focus and will be approached as a possible reason behind immersive theatre's susceptibility to absorption within the experience industry and co-optation by innovative marketers. The article then establishes a set of shared values between the neoliberal ethos and audience participation in The Masque of the Red Death. Risk perception research, especially that arising from the Oregon Group and Stephen Lyng, will be touched on as a means of introducing some political considerations arising from the notion of entrepreneurial participation. A more optimistic, but ultimately sobering set of responses will be offered in conclusion.

A Review: Contrast-Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) methods to help the application of face recognition
Purnawarman Musa, Farid Al Rafi, Missa Lamsani
2018· 2018 Third International Conference on Informatics and Computing (ICIC)131doi:10.1109/iac.2018.8780492

Image processing technology in hardware and software has a significant development in all aspects of human civilization. Image processing is growing rapidly in various fields such as medical image, Biometrics, Object identification, Object character recognition (OCR), and many more. One biometric technique in an application detects and recognizes faces. Objectives of face recognition include recognizing emotions, identifying offenders, applying to security systems, image processing to access a door as an application of computer and human interaction. The facial recognition system in this research was conducted live streaming using Local Binary Pattern Histogram (LBPH) method. There is a constraint to a light intake received by the camera through a sensor that captures the image. Based on the results of our research to make better facial recognition, we propose using adaptation methods on the intensity of light that is around the image capture object. The method of adaptation in this research is the Contrast Adaptive Limited Histogram (CLAHE).

M. Maswadah
2003· Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation90doi:10.1080/0094965031000099140

This paper is concerned with the problem of obtaining the conditional confidence intervals for the parameters and reliability of the inverse Weibull distribution based on censored generalized order statistics, which are more general than the existing results in the literature. The coverage rate and the mean length of intervals have been obtained for different values of the shape parameter, via Monte Carlo simulation. Finally a numerical example is given to illustrate the inferential methods developed in this paper.

2016· Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences87doi:10.1016/j.sbspro.2016.02.063

Homeschooling students can experience academic stress. Parent-child relationship, self-esteem, and also academic self-efficacy are assumed as factors influencing the academic stress. Do parent-child relationship, self-esteem, and academic self-efficacy have effect simultaneously to homeschooling students’ self-regulated learning? The purpose of this study is to measure the influence of parent-child relationship, self-esteem, and academic self-efficacy to academic stress on homeschooling students. The direct and indirect effect can be seen from the empirical model when fit the data. Subjects are 87 homeschooling students in Tangerang. Academic stress constructed from Ang et.al. (2009) (α = 0.875), academic self-efficacy constructed from Bandura (1997) (α = 0.907), self-esteem constructed from Rosenberg (1965) (α = 0.758), parent-child relationship constructed from Brook et.al. (2012) (α = 0.875). Structural Equation Model is used to analyze the data. The empirical model has goodness of fit. It explains the influence of parent-child relationship, self-esteem, and academic self-efficacy to academic stress on homeschooling students. The result shows that parent-child relationship has no direct effect to academic stress or indirect effect through academic self-efficacy. On the other hand there is indirect effect from parent-child relationship to academic stress through self-esteem. Parent-child relationship, self-esteem, and academic self-efficacy are good predictors to homeschooling students’ academic stress. But parent-child relationship only effects students’ academic stress through self-esteem and not strong enough to effects academic stress through academic self-efficacy. At this point, parents play important role to build positive self-esteem related to the homeschooling activities.

The Influence of Perceived Service Quality, Mooring Factor, and Relationship Quality on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty
Waseso Segoro
2013· Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences75doi:10.1016/j.sbspro.2013.06.433

The phenomenon of declining in customer satisfaction and loyalty becomes the major concern of the service firms because the two factors determine the performance of the firms. Furthermore, factors that simultaneously influence customer satisfaction and loyalty are the customer perception on service quality, the mooring factors and the relationship quality. To analyze the relationship amongst factors that influence the customer satisfaction and loyalty, this research set some measurement on each factor/variable. The customer perception on service quality is measured by dimensions of call quality, price structure, mobile devices, value added services, convenience in procedure, and customer support. The mooring factors are measured by attitude, social influence, switching cost, prior switching behaviour, and variety seeking. The relationship quality is measured by dimensions of trust, familiarity and partnering. Customer satisfaction is measured by dimensions of price, functional, technical, and emotional. The last, the customer loyalty is measured by the dimension of cognitive loyalty, affective loyalty, conative loyalty and action loyalty. To measure all the constructs and indicators, this research distributes questioners to 370 students who subscribe cellular operator service at eight universities in Bandung. The method of data analysis of this research is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The research result proved that the customer perception on service quality and relationship quality have positive correlation with mooring factors. Then, the perception on service quality has positive direct influence customer satisfaction. On the other hand, mooring factors and relationship quality does not have direct influence customer satisfaction. However, mooring factors is proven to be moderating variable of service quality and relationship quality to customer satisfaction and has positive relationship. Moreover, the customer perception on service quality, relationship quality, and customer satisfaction has positive direct influence the customer loyalty.

1999· The Astrophysical Journal69doi:10.1086/307225

We report the X-ray observations of the Galactic X-ray transient source GRS 1915+105 with the PPCs of the Indian X-ray Astronomy Experiment(IXAE) onboard the Indian satellite IRS-P3 during 1997 June - August, which have revealed the presence of four types of intense X-ray bursts. All the observed bursts have a slow exponential rise, a sharp linear decay, and they can broadly be put in two classes: irregular and quasi-regular bursts in one class, and regular bursts in another class. The regular bursts are found to have two distinct time scales and they persist over extended durations. There is a strong correlation between the preceding quiescent time and the burst duration for the quasi-regular and irregular bursts. No such correlation is found for the regular bursts. The ratio of average flux during the burst time to the average flux during the quiescent phase is high and variable for the quasi- regular and irregular bursts while it is low and constant for the regular bursts. We suggest that the peculiar bursts that we have seen are charact- eristic of the change of state of the source. The source can switch back and forth between the low-hard state and the high-soft state near critical accretion rates in a very short time scale. A test of the model is presented using the publicly available 13-60 keV RXTE/PCA data for irregular and regular bursts concurrent with our observations.

2022· The Journal of Positive Psychology68doi:10.1080/17439760.2022.2093784

A systems perspective explains dynamics of human flourishing based on the relations between its constituents. Using cross-sectional data from emerging adults (ages 18–29) in 10 countries (N = 7221), this study explored the interrelatedness among constituents of flourishing – happiness & satisfaction with life, mental & physical health, meaning & purpose, character & virtue, close social relationships, and financial & material stability – within and across countries. Each country's sample was characterized by a unique flourishing network, although there were similarities. Except for financial & material stability, all constituents were positively related across samples. Financial & material stability showed the highest cross-country heterogeneity in its relations. Happiness & satisfaction with life and meaning & purpose showed the strongest interrelations. A higher level of one constituent was associated with lower network connectivity. This systems perspective extends existing knowledge about the conceptualization of flourishing and how people can be supported to achieve and maintain complete well-being.

2019· International Journal of Advanced Computer Science and Applications62doi:10.14569/ijacsa.2019.0100353

Melanoma cancer is a type of skin cancer and is the most dangerous one because it causes the most of skin cancer deaths. Melanoma comes from melanocyte cells, melanin-producing cells, so that melanomas are generally brown or black coloured. Melanomas are mostly caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation that damages the DNA of skin cells. The diagnoses of melanoma cancer are often performed manually by using visuals of the skilled doctors, analyzing the result of dermoscopy examination and match it with medical sciences. Manual detection weakness is highly influenced by human subjectivity that makes it inconsistent in certain conditions. Therefore, a computer assisted technology is needed to help classifying the results of dermoscopy examination and to deduce the results more accurately with a relatively faster time. The making of this application starts with problem analysis, design, implementation, and testing. This application uses deep learning technology with Convolutional Neural Network method and LeNet-5 architecture for classifying image data. The experiment using 44 images data from the training results with a different number of training and epoch resulted the highest percentage of success at 93% in training and 100% in testing, which the number of training data used of 176 images and 100 epochs. This application was created using Python programming language and Keras library as Tensorflow back-end.

201958doi:10.1109/ic2ie47452.2019.8940842

Fire is one of the disasters in high buildings that often leads to many material losses and casualties. In general, material and nonmaterial loss of fire incidents can be minimized by solving it quickly. To minimize the extent of the fire area, we need technology to detect the existence of fire hotspots before fires become widely. At first, the fire early detection system uses a sensor, but many sensors cannot stand fire. Therefore, another method needed that can monitor an area in the building from a distance. In this study, CCTV cameras were used to see whether there was a fire hotspot or not. As additional technology, we use artificial intelligence to analyze the results of CCTV. We propose the You Only Look Once (YOLO) method to detect fire hotspots on CCTV videos. In this study, the YOLO method can recognize fire hotspots with an average value of accuracy is 90%.
