Abstract Charred bark of Acacia mangium (bark charcoal), which is made of wood waste from pulp production, was applied as soil amendment for the cultivation of maize, cowpea and peanut to examine its effects on crop yield and soil chemical properties in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The yields of maize and peanut significantly increased after the application of bark charcoal under a fertilized condition in an infertile soil environment. In addition, increases in the root amount and colonization rate of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi after bark charcoal application were also observed in maize. In general, the application of bark charcoal induced changes in soil chemical properties by increasing the pH value, total N and available P2O5 contents, cation exchange capacity, amounts of exchangeable cations and base saturation, and by decreasing the content of exchangeable Al3+. The amelioration of the soil chemical properties could be effective in highly weathered infertile tropical soils. The application of charcoal in agriculture is expected to lead to the formation of a carbon sink in soil and to increase crop yield because it has been suggested that charcoal is highly resistant to abiotic and biotic degradation, even in a soil environment.
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru SD dan SMP Negeri/Swasta di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Peningkatan kompetensi guru dilakukan melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Pelatihan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dilakukan dengan strategi siklus yang dilakukan dengan tahapan dari identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan identifikasi masalah bahwa masih banyak guru yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menyusun PTK dan melaksanakannya di kelas. Lemahnya kemampuan mereka dalam menyusun PTK disebabkan oleh keterbatasan pengetahuan atau pemahaman mereka tentang PTK secara praktek. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan evaluasi. Dalam pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa para guru berpartisipasi aktif untuk memiliki keseriusan, kemauan, dan motivasi yang tinggi untuk mengembangkan penelitian tindakan kelas. Dalam meningkatkan keberhasilan pada proses pembelajaran salah satunya melalui penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Manfaat PTK di antaranya adalah membantu guru memperbaiki mutu pembelajaran, meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dan meningkatkan kompetensi guru. Kegiatan pelatihan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini memberikan dampak terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan tentang pemahaman penelitian tindakan kelas, pengolahan dan analisis data penelitian tindakan kelas. Hasil akhir dalam penelitian ini adalah proses pelatihan memberikan manfaat bagi guru, yaitu dapat meningkatkan pemahaman guru pada Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, menumbuhkan motivasi dalam menyusun PTK dan melaksanakan PTK, serta bagi sekolah dapat meningkatkan kinerja sekolah melalui peningkatan profesionalisme guru. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan masukan guru di sekolah lainnya sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Budaya lokal akan lebih bermakna karena mampu mendorong semangat kecintaan pada kehidupan manusia dan alam semesta. Sementara teknologi sebagai hasil kebudayaan yang bersifat fisik tanpa spritualitas nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam adat istiadat, agama, kesenian akan kehilangan fungsi untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup manusia. Nilai-nilai, norma, etika yang terkandung dalam aturan adat tercermin dalam budaya lokal semestinya merupakan referensi –referensi yang bermanfaat di era globalisasi. Menggunakan data kualitatif penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskkriptif. Merujuk pada pemikiran Alvin Boskoff menunjukan bahwa faktor-faktor yang menjadi tantangan bagi Budaya Lokal adalah perubahan tata nilai-nilai budaya dalam masyarakat, serta matinya bentuk-bentuk seni tradisi dibeberapa wilayah Nusantara, yang disebabkan oleh teknologi di era global. Budaya lokal adalah salah satu komponen yang memberikan jati diri kita sebagai sebuah komunitas yang spesial, yang eksis di antara bangsa-bangsa di dunia ini. Maka dipandang perlu menumbuhkan kesadaran bagi generasi muda untuk lebih memahami budaya yang dimilikinya. Dengan cara memberdayakan kearifan lokal yang tumbuh di kantong-kantong budaya di seluruh persada Nusantara.
To create a better quality of education, it was necessary to take various actions that support learning in the classroom. This laziness causes low quality education. The low quality of education at this time was an indication of the need for professional teachers. The purpose of this study provided an overview of improving teachers’ professionalism through learning innovation. The research used a qualitative descriptive study. Data were collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. Objects in this study were teachers of SD Negeri 3 Rejosari, SD Negeri 1 Purwodadi, SD Negeri 2 Srimulyo in Belitang Mulya, SD Negeri 1 Karang Endah, and SD Negeri 1 Taraman, Semendawai Suku III Ogan Komering Ulu Timur, South Sumatra. The results indicated that the teachers must be equipped by knowledge and motivation, then the teachers can improve their service to students through their teaching skills. Learning objectives in educational institutions generally need innovation, so they can develop their skill based on the dynamics of life. The effort can be done in order to improve teachers’ professionalism was by learning innovations. The learning innovations were be able to improve the previous learning to a better direction, giving an overview to other parties about the implementation of innovation, and others can also try out the innovations made, encourage them to continue on developing knowledge. Parents have an important role in shaping and developing the character of children. Therefore, the school should be able to create a good collaboration with parents in fostering the students’ characters. This study aimed at finding out how the school applied the strategy to strenghten the students’ character in maximizing the role of parents. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 62 of Palembang. The type of this research was qualitative descriptive research. The data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study suggested that the roles of parents in strenghtening the students’ characters were: (1) improving the characters’ value as part of the formulation of vision, mission and objectives of the institution which were implemented in daily lives. (2) maintaning the strong relationships in strengthening the students’ characters, (3) preparing the teachers who had high responsibility in doing their tasks for the success of the students, (4) creating the safe, comfortable and condusive condition which could stimulate character education, and maintaining the Islamic environment in worship, work and social interaction. The results of the implementation of the character building program in SD Negeri 62 Palembang were as follows: (1) learners were accustomed to say greetings, (2) students had tolerance and mutual respect among fellow students, (3) students were honest, (4) students were polite, (5) students were highly integrated, and (6) the students concerned on their environment.
Abstract — The Industrial Revolution 5.0 has brought changes in various aspects of human life. Among these is the education system. The question is, what components of education are affected, and how to respond to these implications? This paper aims to explain the changes that must be made in schools so that human resources produced by various educational institutions can compete and contribute globally. Through literature review and content analysis, the discussion shows that current and future curriculum development must complement students' abilities in the academic dimension, life skills, live together, and think critically and creatively. Other invisible skills like interpersonal skills, global-minded citizens, and literacy of the media and information available. The curriculum must also be able to shape students with an emphasis on the STEM field, referring to ICT-based learning, the internet of things, big data and computers, as well as entrepreneurship and internships. The competencies that must be possessed by teachers are educational competence, competence for technological commercialization, competence in globalization, competence in future strategies, and competence counselor. In addition to these competencies, teachers also need to have a friendly attitude with technology, collaboration, be creative and take risks, have a good sense of humor, and teach holistically. Melalui kajian literatur dan analisis isi, penulis menjelaskan bahwa pengembangan kurikulum saat ini dan di masa depan harus melengkapi kemampuan siswa dalam dimensi akademik, keterampilan hidup, kemampuan untuk hidup bersama dan berpikir secara kritis dan kreatif. Keterampilan tak kasat mata seperti keterampilan interpersonal, berpikir global, dan literasi media dan informasi. Kurikulum juga harus dapat membentuk siswa dengan penekanan pada bidang STEM, merujuk pada pembelajaran berbasis TIK, internet of things, big data dan komputer, serta kewirausahaan dan magang. Selain guru memiliki kompetensi mengajar dan mendidik, literasi media, competence in globalization, competence in future strategies, dan konseling, juga perlu memiliki sikap ramah teknologi, kolaborasi, menjadi kreatif dan mengambil risiko, memiliki selera humor yang baik, serta mengajar secara holistik. An outbreak of dengue fever (DF), dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF), and dengue shock syndrome (DSS) in the city of Palembang, south Sumatra, Indonesia was investigated to (i) validate epidemic occurrence, (ii) confirm dengue virus aetiology and associated serotype(s), (iii) provide a demonstrable measure of community impact, and (iv) identify causative relationship (if any) with climatic El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) influences. Trend analysis based on a 6-year retrospective review of hospital records demonstrates a 3-fold increase in clinical cases for the outbreak period (January-April 1998), relative to historical records. In the 2 hospitals surveyed, the monthly mean number of outbreak-related dengue cases over 4 months was 833 (range 650-995 cases/month); the mean monthly value for the previous 72 months was 107 (range 14-779 cases/month). An apparent trend in epidemic transmission was observed, evolving from a 5-year cyclic phenomenon to an annual occurrence, often indistinguishable from one year to the next. The proportional distribution of clinical outbreak cases into DF, DHF and DSS diagnostic categories was 24%, 66%, and 10%, respectively. The population aged 10-19 years accounted for the largest (35%) proportion of hospitalized DHF cases, followed by children aged 5-9 years (25%) and children aged 4 years (16%). Serum samples obtained during acute illness from 221 hospitalized patients were examined using serology, RT-PCR, and virus isolation in cell culture: 59% of samples had laboratory evidence of a dengue infection. All 4 dengue virus serotypes (DEN 1-4) were identified in epidemic circulation, with DEN 3 predominating (43%). DEN 1 was the principal serotype associated with less severe dengue illness, suggesting that virulence may be, in part, a function of infecting serotype. The climatic influence of ENSO on rainfall and temperature in the months leading up to and during the outbreak was dramatic, and is likely to contribute to favourable outbreak conditions.
Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada analisis Hasil Konversi Eco Enzyme menggunakan Nenas (Ananas comosus) dan Pepaya (Carica papaya L.) yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui analisis kimia hasil fermentasi eco enzyme dengan menggunakan bahan baku nenas dan pepaya. Buah pepaya dan nenas dicampur dengan rasio 3 bagian bahan organik, 1 bagian molase dan 10 bagian air bersih,  kemudian difermentasi selama 3 bulan untuk menjadi larutan eco enzyme. Sampel hasil fermentasi tersebut diambil dan dianalisis untuk mengetahui parameter kimia berupa pH, dan TDS dengan menggunakan prosedur pengujian yang ditetapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter pH untuk kedua buah cenderung asam yaitu pada 3,15 dan 3,29 selanjutnya untuk TDS memiliki kecenderungan yang relatif dekat yaitu, 1132 mg/l untuk nenas dan 1188 mg/l untuk pepaya.  Diketahui juga bahwa larutan Eco enzym bemanfaat  untuk berbagai kegiatan rumah tangga sekaligus dalam pengolahan air limbah.Kata Kunci : eco enzyme, fermentasi, nenas, pepaya
The world of education continues to be demanded to be able to produce human resources in accordance with the needs of the community and employment in line with the development of technology and culture of the community. This study examines 1) is there an influence of professional competence on teacher performance; 2) is there any influence of pedagogical competence on teacher performance; and 3) is there an influence of professional competence and pedagogical competence together on teacher performance. The results of the study prove both partially and simultaneously there is an influence of professional competence and pedagogical competence on teacher performance. This research contributes to the teacher because the teacher is a very dominant and strategic element in the process of knowledge transfer. Teaching skills are a hallmark of the teaching profession. Achievement of learning goals and success in overcoming learning problems much depends on the ability or competence of teachers.
Success a management cannot be separated from management principles which formed the basis and the value of the management itself. Principles in management should be resilient, it needs to be considered in accordance with the special conditions and situational change. The general notion of management is an activity to achieve the goals that have been determined (getting things done through the effort of other people). Effective leadership is based on those they lead (conditions and situations). The leadership in Islamic educational institutions will be very effective in accordance with the conditions and situations that arise at the time. There is no effective leadership style but with the situation and the growing conditions. In the management of Islamic educational institutions must have some component of the right to produce a proper and prudent performance include planning, organizing, actuating, dan controlling.
The study aimed at obtaining information about the implementation of Literacy School Movement Based Learning Multiliteration (SLM) (Educational Paradigm of 21st Century). This research used qualitative. Data were collected through interview, observation and documentation. The subjects of this study were students and teachers from SMK Negeri 1 Suak Tapeh and the results showed that (1) implementation of School Literacy Movement (GLS) through multiliteration to read, write and speak has entered development and learning which is a progress from habituation that has been done since 2016; (2) in the development and the learning phase, the students were able to make simple papers such as fairy tales, inspirational stories, scientific papers and appropriate technology which displayed on major events such provincial-level student expo and competition; (3) GLS has enhanced the culture of literacy and fostered the character of students to be creative and innovative.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kompetensi profesional guru dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SMP Negeri 8 Prabumulih menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif etnografi dan fenomenologis. Penelitian menggunakan sampel populasi yakni sampel penelitian sama dengan jumlah populasi yakni 62 orang guru dan pegawai. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif naratif yang diterapkan dengan tiga jalur yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa: 1) kompetensi Guru SMP Negeri 8 Prabumulih relatif baik; 2) upaya-upaya yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah dan guru dalam mengembangkan kompetensi professional dengan mengikuti diklat, pelatihan penataran, workshop, dan kelompok kerja guru, dan 3) kendala yang dihadapi diantaranya penguasaan ilmu dan teknologi yang masih kurang, kurang kreatifitas guru, guru yang mengajar bukan dibidangnya
This study investigated the effect of ownership structure on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure, firm value, firm performance, and audit committees as moderating variables in the Indonesian context. The ownership structures in this study are foreign, public, state, and family ownership. This research is quantitative and uses secondary data. The sample consisted of 140 companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018–2020 period. This study used legitimacy, stakeholder, and agency theory. The analytical method used was partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results show that foreign and public ownership positively and significantly affect environmental, social, and governance disclosure. However, state and family ownership did not affect environmental, social, and governance disclosure. In addition, environmental, social, and governance disclosure positively impacts firm value. However, environmental, social, and governance disclosure do not affect a company’s performance. Audit committees moderate the influence of environmental, social, and governance disclosure and firm value. However, the audit committees do not moderate the effect of environmental, social, and governance disclosure and firm performance. The government should make stronger environmental, social, and government regulations that must be implemented by companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange even though they are now voluntary.
In this qualitative paper, we investigated in-depth about the strategy of the principal in preparing the students ready for the industrial revolution 4.0. The objects of research were State Vocational School 2 Palembang, State Vocational School 6 Palembang, Vocational School 2 Muara Enim, State Vocational School 1 Gelumbang, and Vocational School YTK Kimia Palembang. The data were carried out by interview, observation, and documentation. We found that some strategies used by 5 (five) Vocational Schools in South Sumatra in aligning education with the demands of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era were improving the quality of facilities and infrastructure based on industrial needs (link and match). They upgraded teachers' competence appropriate with the era of industrial revolution 4.0 and then created competent and ready graduates in harmony with the program Making Indonesia 4.0 launched by the Ministry of Industry.
Abstrak: Tingkat Literasi Keuangan di Kalangan Mahasiswa STIE Musi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana tingkat literasi keuangan mahasiswa STIE Musi itu. Aspek yang diteliti adalah: pengetahuan tentang keuangan pribadi, simpan pinjam, asuransi, dan investasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang mengisi Kartu Rencana Studi STIE Musi di semester I tahun akademik 2012/2013. Responden pada penelitian ini sebanyak 305. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa untuk keputusan keuangan berdasarkan pendapat pribadi, dalam beberapa hal mencerminkan kurangnya pengetahuan tentang bentuk-bentuk investasi jangka panjang yang memberikan imbal hasil dan risiko yang lebih tinggi dari deposito, serta keputusan untuk asuransi jiwa, responden tidak mengerti asuransi jiwa. This study aims to know how the level of financial literacy of STIE Musi’s students. Aspects investigated are: knowledge of personal finance in general, savings and loans, insurance, and investments. The population in this study were college students who fill out STIE Musi’s Card Study Plan of first semester of academic year 2012/2013. 305 respondents were surveyed. The results showed that for every observable aspect of respondents could be correctly categorized as low as scores of less than 60%. For financial decisions based on personal opinion, in some ways reflects the lack of knowledge of other forms of long-term investments that provide returns and higher risk than deposits, as well as the decision for life insurance, the respondents do not understand life insurance. The Air Telang Protected Forest (ATPF) is one of the most dynamic and essential coastal forest landscapes in South Sumatra, Indonesia, because of its location between multiple river outlets, including the Musi catchment—Sumatra’s largest and most dense lowland catchment area. While most ATPF areas are covered by mangroves, these areas have been experiencing severe anthropogenic-driven degradation and conversion. This study aims to evaluate land cover changes and associated carbon emissions in the ATPF over a 35-year period (1985–2020) by utilizing the available Landsat and Sentinel imagery from 1985, 2000, and 2020. Throughout the analysis period, we observed 63% (from 10,886 to 4059 ha) primary and secondary forest loss due to land use change. We identified three primary anthropogenic activities driving these losses, namely, land clearing for plantations and agriculture (3693 ha), coconut plantations (3315 ha), aquaculture (245 ha). We estimated that the largest carbon emissions were caused by coconut plantation conversion, with total carbon emissions of approximately 14.14 Mt CO2-eq. These amounts were almost 4 and 21 times higher than emissions from land clearing and aquaculture, respectively, as substantial soil carbon loss occurs once mangroves get transformed into coconut plantations. While coconut plantation expansion on mangroves could generate significant carbon stock losses and cleared forests become the primary candidate for restoration, our dataset could be useful for future land-based emission reduction policy intervention at a subnational level. Ultimately, our findings have direct implications for current national climate policies, through low carbon development strategies and emission reductions from the land use sector for 2030, as outlined in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
The objectives of this study were to examine 1) the correlation between supervision of headmaster and teachers’ work ethos, 2) interpersonal communication and teachers’ work ethos, and 3) supervision of headmaster and interpersonal communication with teacher’ work ethos. This research was used quantitative descriptive method by using multiple correlation. Data collected by questionnaire, and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively by using SPSS (version 16.0 for windows. From the research results can be seen that the value of t obtain or Sig. of supervisionn of headmaster was 0.006 whose value is less than = 0.05. It means that was significant correlation between supervision of headmaster (X1) and work spirit (Y). The value of t obtain or sig. t Interpersonal Communication (X2) was 0.023 whose value is smaller than the value = 0.05. This means that there is a significant correlation between Interpersonal Communication (X2) with work spirit (Y). The value of F obtained was 12,960. While the value of significant F is 0,000, where the value is less than the accuracy value = 0.1 (Pv <), it means that there is a significant correlation between Supervision of head master (X1), and Interpersonal Communication (X2) with work spirit (Y). Abstract — The purpose of this study is to find out and describe how preparedness in welcoming the 5.0 industrial revolution, especially in the field of education. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of the discussion it can be concluded that from the presentation and some explanations about education in the industrial revolution 5.0 there is a need for readiness in welcoming and going through it. The industrial revolution is a change in the way of human life and work processes fundamentally, where the advancement of information technology can integrate in the world of life with digital which can have an impact on scientific disciplines. The Industrial Revolution Society 5.0 emphasized the readiness to think more critically, develop creativity. Based on several explanations, the authors conclude that it is indeed necessary and important for the community to prepare themselves to welcome and carry out the education of the industrial revolution 5.0 with a way of thinking that must always be introduced and accustomed to is a way of thinking to adapt in the future, namely analytical, critical, and creative. Revolusi industri merupakan sebuah perubahan cara hidup manusia dan proses kerja secara fundamental, dimana adanya kemajuan teknologi informasi dapat mengintegrasikan dalam dunia kehidupan dengan digital yang dapat memberikan dampak disiplin ilmu. Masyarakat revolusi industri 5.0 ditekankan pada kesiapan untuk lebih berpikir kritis, mengembangkan kreativitas. Berdasarkan dari beberapa penjelasan, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa memang perlu dan penting masyarakat menyiapkan diri dalam menyambut dan menjalankan pendidikan revolusi industri 5.0 dengan Cara berpikir yang harus selalu dikenalkan dan dibiasakan adalah cara berpikir untuk beradaptasi di masa depan, yaitu analitis, kritis, dan kreatif. In realizing early childhood that can develop the potential of early childhood required the existence of planning, organizing, implementation, and controlling. This paper was library research. The result obtained indicate that PAUD learning activities consist of Teaching and Learning Activities, Reviewing the Education Calendar, and Learning Schedule Arrangements. Guidelines for learning organization are concerned on defining developmental stages, capacity indicators, defining the concept of knowledge introduced, setting themes, developing learning activities, preparing tools and materials. Learning planning strategy should pay attention to SKH (Daily Activities Unit) and SKM (Weekly Activities Unit). The curriculum should be structured by considering the differences which is appeared in society, then learners can recognize the diversity of social life. The setting of learning class is organized according to the school’s vision and mission. The teacher’s teaching activities start from welcoming the students in front of the school gate, carry out the learning, take the students to the front of the gate until the child is picked up by their respective parents. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh supervisi kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja guru secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Prabumulih Barat. Populasi penelitian ini adalah guru pada SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Prabumulih Barat sebanyak 104 orang yang digunakan untuk sampel. Data dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner menggunakan skala likert, dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik korelasi dan regresi dengan menggunakan program Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) versi 22.0 dan Manual. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa 1) ada pengaruh supervisi kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri Se Kecamatan Prabumulih Barat sebesar 52,6% sisanya 47,4% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang bukan menjadi variabel dalam penelitian ini. 2) pengaruh motivasi kerja guru terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri Se Kecamatan Prabumulih Barat sebesar 46,2% sisanya 53,8% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang bukan menjadi variabel dalam penelitian ini 3) ada pengaruh supervisi kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja guru secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Prabumulih Barat, sebesar 58,5% sisanya 41,5% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lainnya yang tidak termaksud variable variabel pada penelitian ini.
